Gallatin County Population Has Doubled

The population in Gallatin County has doubled since 1990 according to a new report form Headwaters Economics.  In 1990 the county population was 50,811 and the latest census data from 2016 is 104,502.  Gallatin County's high quality of life and natural amenities attract entrepreneurs, workers, retirees and tourists.  I grew up ski racing at Bridger Bowl going back to 1972.  I've watched this growth happen over a lot of years.  It's easy to complain about the increase in people here but the ... read more

Bozeman Sets Record Snow Fall

Bozeman sets record snow fall through April 23rd with 142.1 inches according to a KBZK TV post.  The previous snow fall record was the 1996/1997 winter with 141.5 inches.  The snow total year actually runs through June 30th and that same 1996/1997 year saw 158.5 inches in Bozeman.  So we've got a little ways to go to break the yearly total but no doubt a big snow year for Bozeman.  The city of Bozeman's goal is to have every street plowed within 7 days.  "With this year's record snow fall i... read more

Bozeman Sees 2nd Highest Snowfall

This winter's snowfall has been impressive according to KBZK, the CBS TV affiliate for Bozeman.  From July 1st to April 3rd Bozeman has seen 126" of snow.  This is currently ranked as the 2nd highest snow total through April 3rd.  Our all time record was the winter of 1996/1997 with 128.4".  With more snow likely in April, it could break our all time record.  December 2017 was impressive with 46.3" of snow.  This set an all time record for December.  Our seasonal average for Decem... read more
