Gallatin County Population Has Doubled

The population in Gallatin County has doubled since 1990 according to a new report form Headwaters Economics.  In 1990 the county population was 50,811 and the latest census data from 2016 is 104,502.  Gallatin County's high quality of life and natural amenities attract entrepreneurs, workers, retirees and tourists.  I grew up ski racing at Bridger Bowl going back to 1972.  I've watched this growth happen over a lot of years.  It's easy to complain about the increase in people here but the ... read more

Bozeman Sets Record Snow Fall

Bozeman sets record snow fall through April 23rd with 142.1 inches according to a KBZK TV post.  The previous snow fall record was the 1996/1997 winter with 141.5 inches.  The snow total year actually runs through June 30th and that same 1996/1997 year saw 158.5 inches in Bozeman.  So we've got a little ways to go to break the yearly total but no doubt a big snow year for Bozeman.  The city of Bozeman's goal is to have every street plowed within 7 days.  "With this year's record snow fall i... read more

Unfortunately, the snow hasn't melted off of the mountain tops (or completely in town) so we are left to hike around town.  Thankfully, Bozeman has an AMAZING trail system.  Spring is the best time of year to take advantage of the trails Bozeman has right at our doorsteps!  Yes, we can venture up to the mountains for some serious hikes, but we can also enjoy a leisurely stroll on one of the many nature trails here in town.  Here are a few of our top picks for seeing the new spring blooms...... read more

Nonprofit Spotlight - Fork and Spoon Homestyle Kitchen

Put down your fork and spoon and head down to Fork and Spoon Homestyle Kitchen located on 7th Avenue.  Bozeman has some truly delightful spots to grab a delicious meal, but none of the them offer as much as the Fork and Spoon Kitchen.  Open Sunday through Friday from 5 to 7pm, the Kitchen always offers a full course menu, with beverages, soup, salad, several entree options, and of course, dessert.  With a rotating menu, the options vary from week to week and seem to get more mouth-watering each time.... read more
