A growing population has Monforton School District looking to expand to accommodate additional students. The student population has grown more than 200% since 2008. The district is seeking a $3.5 million dollar bond. The money would be used to finish the district's master plan of building 8 new classroom spaces between the two schools, additional parking, outdoor activity area, and a connector path. The bond will cost households in the district $24 a year per $100,000 in market value. Superintendent Darren Strauch said they have been picking up about 40 students a year in the Four Corners area. Ballots have been mailed out to eligible voters and will be due no later than 8 pm on March 6th. Voters can also drop off ballots at the Monforton elementary school office.
