Belgrade Sets Record Housing Permits

The city of Belgrade set a record for the number of housing permits issued. The city issued 143 single-family housing permits in 2017. This breaks the old record set in 2016 of 124 housing permits. City planners say this is great news for Belgrade's economy, which could use commercial growth. More permits are being issued as a result of recent population growth throughout the Gallatin Valley. Bozeman and MSU continue to be driving forces with growth in the valley. The Ryen Glenn and Meadowlark Ranch subdivisions on the north side of the airport have seen most of the new construction activity this past year. In 2018, new homes will start going up in the Henson subdivision at the north end of Jackrabbit Lane. City planners say the Belgrade population is approaching 9,000.
