MSU is welcoming the largest incoming class in the university's 128 year history. A total of 3,871 new, first-time students are attending MSU, including undergraduates, graduate students and Gallatin College students.
Those new students contribute to and overall enrollment of 16,841, the second largest in MSU history next to 2018 when they had 16,902 students.
In all, 14,668 undergraduates are taking courses at MSU this fall, which is up 3% over last year. The university's graduate students set a new record of 2,173 this year. That is an 8% increase over last year and a 15% increase over the last decade.
53% of students this fall are Montana residents. MSU's graduation rate is up 10% to 34.1% from 5 years ago.
